Professor Wolfgang Kiefer is one of the most distinguished Raman spectroscopists of the world and his contributions to the field of Vibrational Spectroscopy are numerous. He is a great source of inspiration and motivation for all vibrational spectroscopists,young and old, all over the world. Professor Wolfgang Kiefer received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions for his impeccable contributions to the field of Raman spectroscopy, including the Pittsburgh Spectroscopy Award 2006 ,the Raman Lifetime Award during ICORS 2014 and ESULaB 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award at Leibniz IPHT,Jena,Germany.

It is amazing that , in the basement of his house in Eisingen near Würzburg, he established a small hitech Raman Lab named ‘Eisingen Laboratory for Applied Raman Spectroscopy’ where he continues his research work he enjoys. For Professor Wolfgang Kiefer, Raman spectroscopy is the profession of his life and his hobby.
