Being the land that gave birth to Raman spectroscopy with the historic invention of Raman effect by Sir C. V. Raman, India has the potential to become a platform for facilitating the advanced technology applications related to Raman spectroscopy. The 5th International Conference on Perspectives in Vibrational Spectroscopy (ICOPVS-2014) is scheduled during 08-12 July 2014, at Hotel Mascot, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The International Conference that seeks to bring together scientists from all disciplines of vibrational spectroscopy is designed to nurture emerging areas of vibrational spectroscopy by providing scientists and researchers the opportunity to interact with experts in various disciplines of this vibrant research domain field and exchange ideas in order to expand the Frontiers of research and enhance its impact. Vibrational spectroscopy has become a highly interdisciplinary scientific tool in which Raman spectroscopy plays a prominent role. The ICOPVS-2014, which aims to provide a global platform for the research community in vibrational spectroscopy, is jointly organized by the Department of Physics, Mar Ivanios College and Kerala State Council for Science & Technology and Environment.
